  • Unix-like system (e.g. BSD, Linux, MacOS X, Solaris)
  • Webserver (e.g. Apache, nginx)
  • MySQL >= 5.5.3
  • PHP >= 5.5.0 or >= 7.0.4

PHP modules

  • curl
  • fileinfo
  • gd
  • intl
  • json
  • mbstring
  • pcntl
  • pcre
  • posix
  • PDO
  • pdo_mysql
  • zip
  • imagick (optional, for better image quality)
  • APC/APCU for optimal performance (optional)

PHP settings

  • always_populate_raw_post_data = -1
  • max_input_vars = 10000 (if you have products with many relations)

Howto install on Ubuntu

Assuming you have some basic knowledge of the command line interface under Linux and you use the default LAMP installation on Ubuntu and not XAMPP.

  1. sudo apt-get install apache2-mpm-prefork mysql-server
  2. sudo apt-get install php5 php5-common php5-mysql php5-curl php5-gd
  3. sudo apt-get install git

To ensure apache will work properly restart the apache service:

  1. sudo service apache2 restart
