User customizable height and width

My client would like to be able to have customers input a height and width of a piece of fabric and them add that piece of fabric as 1 product added to the cart. Then the price is a calculation of the square footage. Is this possible?

Can customers enter any value or just choose between some steps and if yes, how many?
