Aimeos shops

Post by sam » 03 Dec 2018, 01:53

Hi. I recently received a 'gigacommerce' email from yourselves.
I love the idea that aimeos could be the system that shows magento for the mess that it is and with luck may even replace magento as the obvious shop choice.
BUT
I cant find any big shops using Aimeos which would allow me to try to convince a shop owner that Aimeos is a better way to go than magento. Can you help ?

I had a look through some of those but they all looked like small shops. I couldnt find anything that would show that 1,000 items runs well, never mind 1000, 000, 000.
I would be looking to move over shops like ribblecycles.co.uk, joebrowns.co.uk, jojomamanbebe.co.uk, all of which have a large product lineup and at peak times can have 3000 visitors per minute.

Hi Sam

The biggest installation we are currently aware of is https://derby-cycle-dealer.com/.
It's a B2B site of a subsidary of the Dutch PON enterprise, a very large company in the automotive, oil production equipment and bicycle area. Their web site (for dealers only so you don't have access) contains their whole product portfolio incl. variants and multi-tenancy for different dealer groups distributed over five portals summing up in ca. 120,000 product/site records.

3000 PI/min are only 50 PI/sec, that's really no problem with Aimeos. We've reached up to 600 PI/sec in a two 8 core server setup during the tests for #gigacommerce :-)

If you would like to know more, you can contact me privately using our contact form:

Cheers

Norbert
