No and it would the problem only make worse if more and more orders are placed and confirmation e-mails have to be sent.andreas.allacher wrote:12.) So it is best to setup the scheduler jobs according to the suggestion in the wiki.
(e-mails every minute, of course later would work too but those are best sent soonish
