ai-radius setting in Themes

Can someone tell me what the "ai-radius" setting is in Themes? I cannot find any mention of it in the documentation and I'm trying to figure out what this setting is controlling. By default it is set at "0". Any details about this setting will be greatly appreciated.

The "--ai-radius" CSS variable in the theme makes corners of elements round (or not, depending on the value).
