Language Menu is showing wrong urls

Hello,
I have a Problem with the Language Menu via the Plugin "Local selector".
The links that get generated are not correct and not switching the language.

I see that it is in the example from aimeo working: https://typo3.demo.aimeos.org/demo
But I dont now what I need to configure to make it work.

I want urls like:
/en/demo/detail/d/Demo-bundle-article
/demo/detail/d/Demoartikel-mit-Auswahl

But instead I get:
/demo/detail/d/Demoartikel-mit-Auswahl?locale%5D=en
/demo/detail/d/Demoartikel-mit-Auswahl?locale%5D=fr

The locale selector plugin should be used for switching currencies in TYPO3 only because switching languages works totally different (using the "L" parameter with an ID). Build the language menu using Typoscript instead.

I wonder, has anyone successfully implemented such a suggested menu, i.e. Typoscript?
It would be a great help for me to know whether if it works as, I will be forced to use 2 currencies.
It has no sense to even think about building such a menu if it fails.
